The meaning of Happiness is a state of mind about “how satisfied we are with our lives”. How good we are feeling daily. The life that goes well for the person leading it comes under happiness. Happiness has a great impact on the level of life we are living in. But our attitude towards life plays a great role in keeping us happy. Positive psychology contributes to a great role to keep us happy. But we are blocking our happiness with negative psychology. Happiness comes from the inner self; the external world cannot contribute to it. But we all are searching for our happiness in materialistic things. This thinking is making us handicap and draining our whole energy. The magic of kid’s happiness is due to his attitude of living in present.
As Rumi said, “When you feel a peaceful joy, you are near the Truth”. Here Truth means God.
With a story, I will try to make you familiar with an important key of happiness…
Once King Janaka asked his team of learned ones
“Tell me the answers of these three questions about this journey of life..
Q1. Which is the best time?
Q2. Who is the best person?
Q3. Which is the best place?”
In reply, they came up with a variety of answers like the best one is God or father or mother or wife Etc. But the King was not satisfied with their replies.
Then Guru Ashtavakra (a Vedic sage had 8 bends reflecting 8 handicaps in his body) came to his palace and asked the king that I had answers to these questions. Ashtavakra replied…
“Life is unpredictable and the future has no promises.Ans1. These present moments are the best time of anyone’s life.
Ans2. The person who is with us to share these present moments is the best because we never know what is next.
Ans3. The best place is the place in which we are now.”
After listening to these replies, King Janaka got three mantras to stay happy in life.
Everyone has a story to tell about his tough time but we cannot spoil our whole life under the shadow of regret of past and worries of the future. Never allow yourself to block your happiness. In the current era, we are just delaying our happiness in a wait of some suitable moments. So, awaken up and start living these beautiful moments with a happy heart.
